Finding Friendship & Resolve in Uncertain Times

Tall Tales” is a short film written and directed by Lana Nguyen and executive produced by Kelly Marie Tran. The film stars Madeleine Yuna Voyles, known for her breakout role in “The Creator” (2023), as Adeline, a young girl living in a post apocalyptic desert world. After the death of her mother, Adeline embarks on a journey to bring her back, guided by an Old World myth that a birthday wish can make any dream come true. Along the way, she is joined by Orion, played by Atticus Woodward, a runaway boy whose practical outlook contrasts with Adeline’s unwavering optimism. Together, they search for the ingredients needed to bake a birthday cake, encountering both danger and unexpected kindness along the way. Voyles delivers a compelling performance at the heart of the story, supported by a talented ensemble and production team that helped realize the film’s vision.
