Comedy for a Cause
The fundraiser brought together a high profile lineup of entertainment talent and industry figures in support of Rideback RISE’s fellowship and community programs focused on expanding opportunities for diverse mainstream storytelling. The event ultimately raised more than $250,000 to support mid career BIPOC creators working in film and television.
The event began with guest arrivals and a courtyard reception, welcoming attendees into an evening of indoor and outdoor festivities. The evening featured catering by Panda Express, refreshments from Boba Guys, cocktails by Don Julio, and desserts from Glazeology.
Supporting Diverse Storytelling in Entertainment
Hosted by Jo Koy, the evening featured performances from Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Jimmy O. Yang, LouLou Gonzalez, Ken Flores, Biniam Bizuneh, Becky Robinson, and Koy himself, alongside appearances from special guests throughout the night. Rideback CEO Diana Mogollón and founder Dan Lin opened the fundraiser, with Lin leading the evening’s first contribution in support of the organization’s mission.
